A lesson I learned in the 90’s. His narcissism shattered me because I didn’t understand how he could be so cruel while claiming to love me more than anyone in the world. He actively worked to destroy my life. Lied to my family and friends about me. Used deep dark secrets, that I told him during the love bombing phase, against me in diabolical ways. He stalked me for two years using an investigator. Lied to me about me as if I wouldn’t know he was lying. He ultimately beat me down badly, I still bear the scars and the deformity to this day. Why? He was lifting my messages and a man from school called me. That man is now my Favorite Ex and considered family. He went after that man because he could. He found nothing so he lied and lied and lied. Said my FE was a pedophile and he used his parent’s wealth and position to hide it. Never happened but the damage was done.

He’s still alive. He’s in agony with a bad back and I’m not without empathy. I wish I could revel in his physical pain but I can’t. I’m not a bad person. But he is.

I asked Google what are the personality characteristics of a malignant narcissistic bully and it described our President Trump to the T. What does it say about us that enough of us want to be governed by someone who shows these tendencies? Very scary times

This all hits home, hard! Every single one of those 5 points fits a member of our family. It is what my husband and I are facing on an almost daily basis. You can't choose your family, but you can choose whether or not you want them in your life. If the person you want to distance yourself from does not respect your decision and constantly tries to insinuate themselves into your life, it can be a real challenge, in particular if they're manipulative liars with the ability to make themselves out to be perfect in the eyes of everybody else.
